How it works

Voiceover in Hookquill: voices, languages and formats

Hookquill records the voiceover from your finished script with a studio narrator you pick after hearing a preview. It reads only the spoken lines, never the visual cues, and you download MP3 or WAV. Every script language has narrators, and Urdu and Hindi scripts get native Urdu narrators.

The voices

  • Studio narrators from Fish Audio’s official voice library, chosen for each language, each with a preview.
  • Urdu and Hindi scripts: all 82 of UpliftAI’s Urdu voices, grouped by use (narration and storytelling, news and broadcast, experts and teachers, regional accents, young voices, characters and comedy, religious), so a script starts on a narrator. Each has a recorded preview and its accent in its description. Hindi scripts are read by the same voices.
  • The Voiceover studio also reads Sindhi and Balochi, with native voices.
  • Languages with narrators: English, Hindi, Urdu, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Indonesian, Arabic.
  • No voice cloning. Hookquill does not clone your voice or anyone else’s.

How a take is made

  • The narrator reads only the spoken words: no visual cues, notes or markers.
  • Recording waits until the fact check has finished, so the audio never reads out a claim that is still being checked.
  • Studio narrators have a pace control; the Urdu narrators read at their natural pace.
  • Download MP3 or WAV. The editor pack bundles the audio with the script, a shot list, the sources and the upload text.

What it costs

3 credits per spoken minute, so a 10-minute script is about 30 credits. A take that fails gives its credits back.

If your channel already has a voice

Export the script as DOCX or Markdown and record it with your own narrator or voice tool. The text is written to be spoken, with numbers spelled the way they are said, so it reads cleanly aloud.

Questions

Can Hookquill read my script in my own voice?

Not as a clone: Hookquill does not offer voice cloning. You can read the script yourself in the teleprompter view, or pick a studio narrator.

Which languages have voiceover?

Every language Hookquill writes in: English, Hindi, Urdu, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Indonesian, Arabic. Urdu and Hindi also have 82 native Urdu voices, and the Voiceover studio adds Sindhi and Balochi.
