YouTube script generator

Give it a topic and get a working title, a written 30-second hook and a section-by-section outline. Free, no signup.

Free, no signup. A few runs per day.

How to use it

  1. Write the topic as a promise, not a subject. “Choosing a first mechanical keyboard without overspending” gives the generator something to aim at. “Keyboards” does not.
  2. Say who it is for. The same topic is a different video for someone on their first build and someone on their fifth.
  3. Pick the format and the length. The format sets the skeleton: a tutorial moves step by step, a story builds towards a turn. The length decides how many sections fit.
  4. Read the hook out loud. If you stumble anywhere, change the words until you don’t. It has to sound like you on your best take.

Turning the outline into a script

The outline is built so each section gives the viewer a reason to watch the next one. The line under each section starts with “But”, “So” or “Which means”. That is the bridge. If you could swap two sections without losing anything, the video is a list, and viewers can feel it. Keep the bridges when you write.

Anything marked [CHECK] is a fact the generator would not guess. Look it up or cut the line. Anything marked [STORY] is a spot for something that happened to you, and the question after the bar tells you which story to reach for.

Write each section to roughly the length the minutes imply. At a conversational pace of about 150 words a minute, an eight-minute video is about 1,200 words. The words to minutes calculator does the maths for other paces, and the online teleprompter will scroll the finished script for you.

What makes an outline hold attention

  • The hook’s question is answered late. The section that pays off the hook sits in the final third, so the reason to keep watching lasts.
  • Every section has a job. It delivers something, raises a question, or answers one raised earlier. A section that does none of those gets cut.
  • The ending points forward. One final payoff, then one specific next video. No recap and no moral.

Example

Input

Topic: why your sourdough comes out flat. For: home bakers on their first few loaves. Tutorial, 8 minutes.

Hook

Your loaf didn’t fail in the oven. It failed hours earlier, on the counter, and there’s a ten-second test that would have told you. By the end of this you’ll know exactly when your dough is ready, and why the recipe’s timing was never going to get you there.

First three sections

1. The flat loaf, explained. So the problem is timing, not the recipe.

2. Reading your dough, not the clock. But a warm kitchen changes everything.

3. Adjusting for your kitchen. Which means you need one test you can trust.

FAQ

Questions

Is the YouTube script generator free?

Yes. The working title, hook and outline are free with no account, for a few runs a day. The full written script is part of Hookquill, which has a free plan.

Why do I get an outline and a hook, not a full script?

A full script written without knowing how you talk sounds like everyone else's, and that is the main complaint creators have about AI scripts. The hook and the structure are where a tool helps most without knowing you. Sign up and Hookquill writes the full script in your voice, learned from your videos or your writing.

What do [CHECK] and [STORY] mean in the outline?

[CHECK] marks a fact the generator refused to guess, such as a price, a figure or a date. Look it up or cut the line. [STORY: ...] marks a spot where a story from your own life would land better than anything a tool could invent, with a question to help you pick the story.

Can it write scripts in other languages?

Yes: English, Hindi, Urdu, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Indonesian, and Arabic. It writes natively in each language rather than drafting in English and translating.

Will YouTube penalise a script written with AI?

YouTube’s monetisation rules are aimed at mass-produced, repetitive content, not at which tool helped you write. A script you shape, fill with your own examples and read in your own voice is your content. Use the outline as a starting point, not a finished product.

Write the full script in your own voice

Hookquill reads your channel, or your writing if you have no channel yet, and drafts every section the way you talk. You edit line by line, then read it off the teleprompter.
