Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and Hookquill, a sole proprietorship when you use the Hookquill website and app. By creating an account or using Hookquill, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough under your local law to agree to these terms. Paid plans require you to be able to make purchases where you live.
  • Keep access to your email account secure: sign-in links are sent there, and you are responsible for what happens in your account.
  • One person, one free account. Creating extra accounts to collect more free or trial credits is not allowed.

Your content

You own what you put into Hookquill and the scripts you create with it. You give us permission to store, process and display that content only as needed to run the service for you, including sending it to our AI model providers to generate your output. We do not train AI models on your content, and the privacy policy explains how we handle it.

You are responsible for having the right to use what you upload, and for how you use what you publish.

AI output

  • AI output can be wrong. Where the model could not back a claim with a source it marks it as a fact to verify, but you should review every script before you publish it.
  • Output for different users can be similar, because similar briefs produce similar text.
  • You are responsible for following YouTube’s policies on what you publish, including any disclosure rules for AI-assisted content.
  • We do not promise any result on YouTube: no views, growth, watch time or revenue.

YouTube

Hookquill uses YouTube API Services. By using features that access YouTube content, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s use of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Hookquill is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Hookquill to:

  • break the law, or infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark or privacy;
  • create content meant to deceive, harass, or impersonate a real person;
  • produce spam or mass-generated content designed to game platforms;
  • get around credit metering, rate limits or bot protection, or overload the service;
  • scrape, copy or reverse engineer the service, its prompts or its output formats.

We may suspend accounts that do these things.

Plans, credits and billing

  • Paid plans are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in advance. Payments are processed by Polar, our merchant of record, which also handles sales tax and VAT.
  • AI actions cost credits, at the price shown before you run them. If an action fails, its credits are returned.
  • Monthly credits renew at the start of each billing period. Unused ones carry over into the next period once, then expire; when a paid plan ends, its remaining monthly credits expire with it. Top-up credits do not expire while your account exists, and are used only after monthly credits run out. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
  • Accounts that sign in with Google get 150 free credits once, to use within 7 days. The Free plan has no monthly credits. Accounts created with email sign-in get no free credits until they sign in with Google. No card is required. Unused free credits expire after 7 days, and the account stays on the Free plan. We may withdraw free credits from accounts created to abuse them.
  • You can cancel at any time from Settings. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, then moves to Free. We do not charge cancellation fees.
  • Payments are non-refundable, including unused credits and partial billing periods, because every AI action is paid for the moment it runs. Try the free trial first. We always fix billing mistakes such as a duplicate charge, and rights the law gives you are not affected. The refund policy has the details.
  • If we change prices, we will tell you before the change applies to your next billing period.

Changes to the service

We improve Hookquill continuously, which means features, credit prices and the AI models behind “Auto” can change. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance.

Ending your account

You can delete your account and data at any time from Settings; see the data deletion page. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Warranties and liability

Hookquill is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about the service or its output, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited by contract.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell signed-in users before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Hookquill after that means you accept the new terms.
